Identity · v1.1 · 2026

A bilingual recipe corpus, set in two voices.

SAVOR carries 3,300 Romanian and Italian recipes from manuscript to machine. The brand splits cleanly into two registers: Tavola, the public face, warm and editorial; and Lab, the technical face, structured and quiet. One logo, one grid, one mono — diverging on display type, color, and density.

02 / Type

A modern serif with character, set against a humanist sans.

Fraunces gives the bilingual titling its sharpness and warmth — equally at home in Romanian and Italian. Montserrat handles UI and Lab body. JetBrains Mono carries data, code, and metadata. Three different hands appear only in the margins.

From an interwar Transylvanian notebook to Pellegrino Artusi's 1891 cookbook — the corpus is what happens when archives become queryable.

Each recipe is modelled as a miniature heritage digital twin — linking the tangible carrier (manuscript page or born-digital file) with its intangible know-how: ingredients, steps, regional context, festive occasion. The metadata spine is Qualified Dublin Core; the culinary detail extends schema.org/Recipe and FOODon.

03 / Color

Pigments from both sides of the corpus.

Every color earns a semantic role. Mediterranean and Carpathian palettes set side by side: terracotta and indigo for the shared interactive thread; ochre and aubergine carrying the Romanian archival weight; olive and saffron held in reserve for life inside recipe pages. Lab uses the same accents, dialed down.

06 / Marginalia

Three hands in the margin.

Recipes carry voices that don't belong in the corpus body. We give them their own space — and their own handwriting. The cook leaves quick warnings in terracotta. The scholar pencils in dates and provenance, slightly skewed. The translator notes glosses in a slow, deliberate italic.
